I've Been Tagged

By The Truffle and what an honor it is. It's a book meme, so here we go.

A book that changed my life:
A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle. As I've written before, in order to find out what happened to Meg and Charles Wallace, I read every book in the junior adult section in alphabetical order until I found them again. It took me a few months and I was sneaking in books like the James Bond series, Morris West and whatever piece of fiction interested me at the moment. I never finished the rest of the alphabet because I had outgrown the section. Now I read Harry Potter. Go figure.

A book I've read more than once:

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. For some odd reason the book intrigues me, I've read it four times. I don't like to read books more than once, there are always more in the library.

A book I would take with me if I was stuck on a desert island:

I liked Truffle's answer but I would probably take the last two Robert Jordan novels. Maybe I would finish them then. Ten books and he still hasn't resolved a story that should have been wrapped up by the fourth book.

A book that made me laugh:

The first three Xanth novels by Piers Anthony, a master of punnery. Seriously. Also, the first 100 pages of The Firm by John Grisham. The portrayal of the interview process was priceless.

A book that made me cry:

I do my best to avoid books or movies that might make me cry, I don't need to pay to see depressing things. That being said, 900 Days: The Siege Of Leningrad by Harrison Salisbury. I was in eighth grade and Mr. Pace thought it would keep me occupied for the semester. It took me a week and I will forever be against war.

A book I wish had been written:

Critical Thinking for Those Who Don't Care (why it matters to you).

A book I wish had never been written:

Tom Sawyer. I am proud to say that I have never read more than a few pages (boring!) but have delivered several "A" book reports. It really helps when your name is at the back of the alphabet and you get to listen to other people give their reports. Extemporaneous speaking bothers me less than reading something that totally bores me.

A book I've been meaning to read:

Harry Potter Number Seven as soon as it comes out.

I'm currently reading:

Nothing, I'm spending too much time on the internets.

Now I'm supposed to tag five others, so here we go:

Property of A Lady
Ole Blue the Heretic (pictures are allowed)
Mixter's Mix
The Tao of Politics
If I Ran The Zoo

  1. Yeesh, I been tagged!

I'll work on it tomorrow, as I'm a tired Mixter!
