Colonel Finally Saw Whites of Their Eyes: "He had barbs for lawmakers ('truly abandoned their oversight responsibilities') and said past presidents had also circumvented the national security structure. But, he said, 'the case that I saw for four-plus years was a case I have never seen in my studies of aberrations, bastardizations, perturbations, changes to the national security decision-making process.'America deserves better and it is long past the time when Joe and Jane Public should look at the results of their single issue voting and see the larger picture and how it has the future of their lives. If 9/ll is the justification for everything we do, why is Osama bin Forgotten still free and Americans are increasingly having their personal freedoms and travel restricted? Why are we in Iraq? Not one single excuse has held up. No WMDs, no threat to the US personally, Saddam has been under arrest for 2 years and still hasn't stood trial. No armor, no bullets, no support stateside or wordwide, no increase in oil, and no way out.
Wilkerson blamed Bush, 'not versed in international relations and not too much interested,' for letting the Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal to take over. He blamed Rice for dropping her role as honest broker to 'build her intimacy with the president.' And he blamed whoever gave Feith 'carte blanche to tell the State Department to go screw itself.'
The cabal's end run around the bureaucracy, he argued, stalled nuclear diplomacy with North Korea and Iran. He said top officials 'condoned' prisoner abuse and left the Army 'truly in bad shape.'"
Here at home the gulf coast is a disaster, the national infrastructure is collapsing due to lack of upkeep, poverty is rising, the middle class are starting to make the choice between food, bills and healthcare, racism has reared its ugly head back into the public's conciousness, the minority political party is spineless as well as toothless, and the ruling party is either under investigation, indictment or has a warrant out for their arrest!
Let's all get on tv and talk about how we knew there was a problem but we couldn't say anything because we weren't in the power loop or we were afraid for our careers or our reputations. Crocodile tears!
Not that I'm irritated or anything. I just like to point out what should be obvious.
