So, even though the majority of the country wants us out of Iraq, the Democrats (my rating is D) folded like a drunken bluffer on the timeline issue, which leads me to ask several questions.
- What are these guys being blackmailed with? For the last six years whenever it has been an important issue, there is a lot of posturing and chest beating or someone will be held to accountability and then the whimpering freakin' fold.
- Who is representing the people of the United States? I see no evidence of representation of the majority view, unless you count dollars as the majority.
- How much longer can the United States continue as an example of the democratic process? It's been a long time since it has worked in the people's favor.
- Where is the outrage from the American people? It's our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness that is at stake. It may not be glaringly obvious, but this is the true heart of the matter.
- When will the media return to investigative journalism instead of repeating what they are told, as if it were true?
- Why are only a few of us asking these questions and why are we regarded as fringe, treasonous or lunatics?
This video is just as true today as it was forty years ago. The lyrics stay the same and with a little imagination or going to another link you can see it with today's pictures, but I like the original.
I wish I could answer even one of your questions. I am still amazed at what has happened to our republic and that nearly no one seems to care.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the Dems folded. I'm so disappointed I could puke. What the hell was all the posturing for if they were just going to cave anyway? Congress certainly doesn't represent the American public.
