Supporting The Troops, Just Not Right Now

Bush doesn't want the troops to have a larger raise, he thinks the money could be better spend in other ways to support the troops. If we thought that would translate into better armor, shorter tours or better medical help when they got back to the states, it might be considered acceptable. But hey, Congress got their extra $4400 a year so they will probably give in on this issue just like they continue to do on withdrawing troops from Iraq. Support those troops! But it has to be some other time because it is important that we continue further down the path to destruction before we wake up and realize that there is nothing left to support.

Meanwhile the media is doing its job, just not the one you think of first. While supposedly giving us "fair and balanced" reporting on issues that didn't involve missing blond women, they were also increasing the use of "stealth" ads. Artful product placement, this segment is sponsored by or those feel good reports about an individual business.

What's next, this newscast is sponsored by the Pentagon?

  1. I don't think the troops can stand much more support than they've been getting. The job is already difficult enough.

    Geez!

  2. For two years I've been thinking with each new revelation of hypocrisy, obfuscation and outright lies, that it would be the one that finally broke the camel's back. But no, people honestly don't believe that all the changes will affect them.

Even as they struggle to pay the bills. Unfortunately, this time will be no different. Sigh.

  3. HEY! Paris NEEDS that extra money! She'll do a line or two in honor of our Armed Forces! How much more "support" do they NEED?
